Kardashian Beauty Khloe Kardazzle Face Palette (Mini Review & Swatches)

SONY DSC

I purchased my Khloe Kardazzle Palette at my local Ulta for $12.99 I love how small and compact these little palettes are, for reference about the size of a credit card. Each palette comes with a mirror, 8 eyeshadow in a variety of finishes, 1 blush and 2 highlighters. These are so cute and small you can easily toss in your purse for touch ups through out the day.

SONY DSC

Top Row: Contains a great highlighting shade and three matte shades.

SONY DSC

Second Row: Contains four beautiful shimmer/metallic shades. Some helpful tips on how I like to use these, I like to use them on top of eyeshadow for some pretty shimmer or alone with some mixing medium such as MAC’s Fix + for some intense foil effect. If you decide to use them alone and dry , the pigmentation won’t be there.

SONY DSC

Can I just say that I’m in love with this blush right here. I mean come on! How cute is this peachy color that is perfect for summer. I especially like to use the peachy highlight next to it to really make my cheek bones pop!

OVERALL VIEW: For the price of this palette you really can’t go wrong. I also have to admit that out of all the new palettes, Khloe’s is my favorite. Some of the matte eyeshadows didn’t swatch very nicely and can look chalky but I have used them and they are very easy to blend. If you use the helpful tips that I included for the eyeshadows I’m sure you will enjoy this palette as well. My favorite part of the palette would have to be the blush and highlight. When I use them they make my skin and cheeks look so smooth I literally look like a mannequin. I give this palette 5 Stars = I Love it! I would definitely recommend this palette and repurchase in the future.

How I use my NEW Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

SONY DSC

I was very excited to try this new product by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have recently fallen in love with many of her products and I new that this was going to make filling in my brows so much easier. I purchased mine at the IMATS but you can order these on the Anastasia website for $18.00. I chose the color Dark Brown and I plan on purchasing the Blonde in the near future (I actually prefer a much lighter brow)

SONY DSC

Here are some tools I like to use to help me achieve a perfectly sculpted brow. First you are going to need an angled eyeliner brush for filling in the brows. I like to use this MAC 266 brush because it is very thin and gives me a nice crisp line with much control.  Next you want to find a good creamy concealer that matches your skin tone to clean and carve out your brows. I like to use my Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette because it is creamy with create pigmentation. Last but not least a good flat concealer brush that will give you a nice clean line. My favorite in my Sonia Kashuk Concealer Brush.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.45.44 AM

This is my totally naked sad brow. You can see that my hairs are really sparse and there is no shape. I am currently in the process of growing them out so they are extra bushy and somewhat hard to work with. All can be fixed with this amazing product that is very simple to use.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.19.42 AM

STEP 1: You want to take your angled eyeliner brush and dip it into the pomade. Start filling in the bottom of your brow a 1/4 of inch from the start of your brow. Try to follow the shape of you brow.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.22.20 AM

STEP 2: Refill your brush if necessary, and repeat step 1 on the top of your brow.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.24.23 AM

STEP 3:  Fill in the outline you made.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.27.26 AM

STEP 4: Without refilling your brush and using whatever is left over, lightly fill in the front of your brow using very light pressure. You want to create a gradient effect to give a softer, slightly more natural look.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.32.19 AM

STEP 5: With your concealer and concealer brush you can clean up and sharpen the edge of your outline to create more definition. This technique is called “carving out” your brows.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.36.04 AM

STEP 6: You can carve out the top of your brow if necessary. During this process you can fix any mistakes you have made in any of the previous steps like over drawing or rough lines.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.40.01 AM

STEP 7:  All that is left is to add any brow gel to hold brow hairs in place if you need it.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 1.45.59 AM

I hope this was helpful, if you are interesting in seeing a more in depth video of this process please visit my YouTube channel (How I use my Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade) . Happy shopping!!!

Anastasia Beverly Hills “Contour Kit” Review and Demo

It has been a really long time since I have been really excited about a new product. I first saw a picture of this palette on Instagram and instantly I knew this was going to be a must in my makeup collection. I have nothing like it and I recently started to perfect the contouring technique. I was one of the lucky few that was able to order it the day it was released, I even set an alarm. It was sold out by the end of the day and I was so happy I didn’t wait because this is a phenomenal kit. I can’t tell you how much I love it and it has quickly become part of my daily makeup routine. You can order this palette on Anastasia.net for $40.

SONY DSC

The palette contains two matte setting powders and a highlight as well as three matte contouring shades. This palette will make it easy for you define, sculpt and highlight you cheekbones, nose, jawline and eyes. You can see that the pans are able to pop out for refill purposes. The pans also are magnetic so no worries of them falling out and cracking.

SONY DSC

Vanilla, Banana, Sand

SONY DSC

Java, Fawn, Havana

VANILLA = Is a peachy pink setting powder that is great for setting concealer right under the eyes.

BANANA  = Is a yellow undertone setting powder that is great for setting the T-Zone area.

SAND = Is an awesome highlight that will give you that J Lo glow, it is the perfect shade and a little goes a long way.

JAVA = Is a contouring shade with slightly gray undertones perfect for carving out the cheeks.

FAWN = Is a contouring shade that is really forgiving. You can go crazy with this stuff and it will give you the softest application. I love it for contouring the nose.

HAVANA = Is the strongest contouring shade with warm undertones. I use this for to add some warmth into my skin and give me a nice tan look.

DEMO: In these photos I’m going to show you how I like to use the Anastasia Contour Kit. I like to use it in a more subtly way for everyday and then I can always add more for a dramatic evening look. This Kit is very versatile and can be used for many things including eyeshadow looks.

SONY DSCSONY DSC

I like to start off with some slight highlighting before I even use the kit, so I already have a head start. Here I’m using my Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Luminous Foundation around the perimeter of my face and down my nose. Next I will place my FLOWER BB Cream in the lightest shade BB1 under my eye in un upside triangle. I start from the tear duct and bring it down to the side of my nostril then at an angle move towards my temple and then back to the tear duct. I also place this all over the eyelid up to the brow and down the bridge of my nose.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

NEXT: I take the color FAWN from the palette and with a Real Techniques “Contour Brush” and start at the top of my ear close to my hair line and blend the color down towards the side of my lips.  Moving my brush is small circular motions to blend and soften any harsh lines but still keeping the color in the hollows of the cheeks. I also place this color on the side of my forehead and on the side of the bridge of my nose. I start at the beginning of my eyebrow and work the color down the side of my nose to contour.

SONY DSC

Then I take the shade HAVANA from the kit and I define the cheeks a bit more. I only bring this color about half way down my cheek and stop there. Make sure that the color is nicely blended to the point where you can not see where Fawn and Havana meet.

SONY DSC

I take the highlight from the kit with a Real Techniques Limited Edition Brush and place it on the tops of my cheeks, down the bridge of my nose, and just above my lip on the cupids bow.

SONY DSC

Then I set the under eye area with VANILLA in the same are I put my Flower BB Cream and use the shade BANANA to set the center of my forehead and chin.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

This is the completed look with a full face of makeup. I hope you found this Demo helpful and please feel free to ask me any questions if I missed anything. For makeup tutorials please visit my Youtube Channel. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Shopping! =)

Urban Decay NAKED 3 Palette Review & Swatches

SONY DSC

Where you as excited about the NAKED 3 palette as I was? I was actually not that amped when I first heard about it because I thought it was going to look just like the first two palettes. I was going to skip it entirely until I saw all the buzz and photos on Instagram! I was very happy with the direction that Urban Decay took on this one. The overall mood and shades from the palette are very soft, romantic, and girly. It has the same tin like case as the NAKED 2 palette with some ridges that resemble ruffled fabric. I was also very happy that this palette has 12 entirely new shades exclusive to this palette which made it a lot easier for me to justify getting another Naked palette. I don’t know about you but I was a pretty annoyed that the NAKED palette and NAKED 2 palette had a repeat color, and it seems that Urban Decay does that a lot with their palettes.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

If you love Mauve/Rose Gold/Taupe eyeshadows then this is definitely the palette for you! I love these colors and this has got to be my favorite palette thus far. You get a few matte shades and mostly shimmers which makes it easy to create a variety of looks. I forgot to mention that this palette also comes with four samples of the Urban Decay Primer potions as well as a dual ended eyeshadow brush!

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

As usual you get highly pigmented, creamy eyeshadows. The only color that I have some issues with is the shade “Dust” it doesn’t stick. I find it hard to get good pigmentation out of it and its more of a glitter than an eyeshadow. Other than that, all the colors work great!

SONY DSC

NAKED, NAKED 2, NAKED 3

Here is a photo comparing all the palettes. You can see the first palette is warm neutrals, than the second is cool neutrals, and then finally the third is pink neutrals. Did you pick up this palette? What did you think? Don’t forget to visit my YouTube channel Jessin21 to see makeup tutorials featuring this palette. REVIEW on the Sonia Kashuk Limited Edition Eye on Neutral Matte/Shimmer Palette

If you’re like me then you love any neutral palette, and when you combine mattes and shimmers it’s almost impossible to resist. Sonia Kashuk released a limited edition Eye on Neutral Matte/Shimmer palette for the Holidays and it’s a perfect gift for just $30! The palette contains 12 matte eyeshadows with 12 complimentary shimmer eyeshadows. The palette is thin, light weight, and contains a large mirror on the inside which makes it very travel friendly.

SONY DSC

When I first saw pictures of this palette online for some reason I thought it was going to be a lot bigger. When I was in Target browsing through the makeup aisles as usual, I saw a cute little palette in the Sonia Kashuk section. I suddenly realized what I was looking at, the new Holiday palette! So basically this palette is the same size as all of Sonia’s previous palettes, but instead of 12 eyeshadows you get 24.

SONY DSC

Instead of black packaging you get a nice ivory compact style palette. I love that you get the nice big mirror on the inside which makes the palette slightly thicker. The eyeshadow squares in the Holiday palette are smaller than the original palettes but are still the same highly pigmented creamy formula that I love. I also noticed that in this new palette the eyeshadows get darker as you move down the rows and that each matte shade has a complimentary shimmer shade right next to it. Which makes it a little easier to create looks when all the colors are arranged with its pair instead of scattered. I know that sometimes it can get a little overwhelming when you see a bunch of eyeshadow colors and have no idea how to wear them.

SONY DSC

1st Row – Great eyeshadows for highlighting.

SONY DSC

2nd Row – I see some great transition shades as well as all over the lid shades.

SONY DSC

3rd Row – Great shades for adding some slight definition.

SONY DSC

4th Row – I see beautiful smokey eye options.

SONY DSC

Now I own Sonia’s two previous Neutral palettes (Matte and Shimmer) and you’re probably wondering…is this palette worth it? I have to admit that I was on the fence for a while, but I’m actually really glad that I went ahead and took the plunge. There are a few shades that are similar to the two previous palettes but overall I feel like this has many new shades. I also like that this palette contains the two finishes and contains a full size mirror which makes it perfect for travel. Before I would have to take two palettes plus a mirror and now everything is perfectly packaged in one little compact. You can easily create day or night looks with these amazingly creamy, highly pigmented eyeshadows. I didn’t even have to use a primer for any of my swatches! Overall I have to say that I love this palette and think that it would be an awesome Christmas gift or even a little treat for yourself. Review on It’sJudyTime BH Comsmetics Palette

On December 7th one of my favorite Youtubers launched her first costum palette. I have been watching Judy’s daily vlog and makeup channel for over a year now and have fallen in love with her and her family. I was thrilled that she partnered up with BH Cosmetics to create a palette with 12 eyeshadows that are perfect for day or night. These shades are hand picked by Judy and feature satin, shimmer and matte finishes. The palette has mostly neutral shades with the exception of two purple and one navy blue shade. This palette is sold on the BH Cosmetics website for $14.95 but act fast! These are Limited Edition. Purchase it here ==> It’s Judy Time Palette

Image

Image

I love that this is a palette with colors that are great for everyday and still give you the option for some fun looks with the pop of color. I also like that Judy included a range of different finishes. I love using the matte shades to define my crease and use the shimmer or satin on the lid. My favorites shades from the palette by just the swatches alone are the two bottom on the left. What are your favorite shades?

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

Here is a photo of the swatches without the flash because we all know how the flash can wash out the vibrancy of the eyeshadows. I have noticed that I do need to use a primer prior to applying eyeshadows to make them more vibrant and last longer. These pictures of the swatches do have a primer underneath, so keep that in mind.

SONY DSC

Overall I love this palette and think that the quality of the eyeshadows is great for the price. I would totally recommend this palette to everyone! Review on Sonia Kashuk’s NEW “Eye on Neutral Shimmer” Palette

Every girl has that go to all reliable palette that they always reach for. Well I’m sure that this palette will replace that one. Sonia Kashuk came out with her “Eye on Neutral” palette a few years ago that has gotten a lot of buzz in the makeup community. Everyone loved the fact that this palette contained all neutral matte shades, which we all know is hard to find. This year Sonia came out with her “Eye on Neutral Shimmer” palette which is a great everyday beautiful palette that I’m sure any makeup lover would love to add to their collection.

Image

This palette is very sleek and compact with a clear plastic window in the front which makes it easier to see all the shades. If your like me then it drives you crazy to have to open each palette to see what shades are inside. This palette is sold exclusively at Target for $19.99. Talk about beauty on a budget!

All these shades are very velvety and pigmented. You get a beautiful range of useful colors to create a day or night look. As you can see you get amazing quality for the price. Now I know what your thinking “how does it compare to all the other neutral palettes out there?” Well I got you covered! I know everyone raves about the Urban Decay Naked palettes, but they can be a little pricey at $50.00 each. I was able to find dupes for those palettes in the much more affordable Sonia Kashuk Palette.

Jewel of an Eye

Limited Edition “Jewel of an Eye” Palette by Sonia Kashuk

If you want to stay on trend this Fall, Sonia Kashuk makes it so much easier for you! With the Limited Edition “Jewel of an Eye” Palette you will have every fall eyeshadow you can possibly need. You can find this palette at your local Target for only $19.99 which is a steal for 12 gorgeous shades.

Image

This is definitely a must have palette. Even if you don’t normally wear color in your normal makeup routine, these shades will make you think twice. The colors are pigmented, easy to blend, and creamy. I did experience some fall out with some of the darker shades which is to be expected. Overall this is a beautiful palette. Here are some swatches.

Image

1st Row (Shades of Purple)

Image

2nd Row (Shades of Teals and Sapphire)

Image

3rd Row (Shades of Bronze and Burgundies)

Image

4th Row (Shades of Taupes)

You may have noticed that the fourth row contains neutrals, I actually like that they included these colors because it gives you more options for wearable looks. Mixing neutrals with colors makes your look more subtle and not so harsh or heavy. You can definitely amp up your look if that is more your style. I have been able to create really dramatic smokey eyes with this palette as well as more toned down day time looks. There is something for everyone. This would make a great Christmas present for any makeup lover, it’s never to early to start Christmas shopping right? I might pick up a few for my friends and family. I have also posted some makeup tutorials using this palette on my Youtube channel for some reference. Let me know what are some of your favorite shades from this palette?

My Beauty Weapon

My Beauty Weapon Palette by Motives

I was contacted on Facebook by a representative of Motives Cosmetics and was offered a free sample of my chose. I have to admit that before that i had never heard of the brand. I decided to check out their website and see what kind of products they offered and I was surprised that Lala is also a representative for the brand. I decided to try the ‘My Beauty Weapon” palette because it contains both matte and shimmer finished plus an absolutely drop dead gorgeous gunmetal glitter. I knew that this palette would be very versatile and something that I could use daily and easily create day or night looks. The palette also contains two lip glosses that are beautiful shades.

Image

You can see that the palette contains a great range of easy to use shades. Each shade has a letter next to it because as an extra perk to this palette it comes with a quick easy guide to help you create three easy looks, (Intense, Natural, and Smokey)

Image

On the inside flat of the palette you will see these guides to help you with placement of each shadow. They are easy to follow and give a good starting point of how to use the palette. Here are some swatches of all the shadows in the palette.

Image

These are the shades for the “Smokey” section of the palette. I found the matte burgundy shade very helpful for defining my crease. The shimmery pink if the perfect neutral color for the entire lid or crease. I loved this matte Ivory shade for highlighting, over the entire lid and for blending.

Image

These are the shades for the “Natural” section palette. This gorgeous warm matte brown is perfect for the crease. The bronze shade is beautiful and very metallic. To be honest I didn’t care for this hunter green eyeshadow, as you can see from the swatch that it’s not pigmented or creamy. I wish I could swap this shade for something else because I can guarantee I’m never going to use it.

Image

These are the shades for the “Intense” section of the palette. You have your staple matte black and your frosty white eyeshadow but I have to tell you the star of this palette is the glittery gunmetal in the center. I was in awe of how sparkly this eyeshadow is! It looks like you literally have tiny little paparazzi’s on your lid with all their flash bulbs going off. I love it! I even posted a short video on my Instagram to show everyone how intense the sparkle is.

Image

These are the two lip glosses that are included in the palette. I think that both shades are very beautiful and pair very well with the eyeshadow shades that come in the palette. They are creamy, moisturizing, and not sticky.

This palette retails for $49.95. Overall I would recommend this palette, it is lightweight and very travel friendly. You can create various looks with this palette from day to night looks. I love that you get different finishes which bring more dimension to your looks. The packaging is not fancy at all it’s just cardboard so if your into luxurious packaging, then this palette is not for you. I will be posting three looks that I created using this palette with a “Date Night” theme.  Keep your eye out for those for some great ideas if you already own this palette or are interested in this palette.
