Baptiste Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Taught in the Baron Baptiste tradition, this athletic class is accessible for students of all levels. Using an energetic vinyasa flow as foundation, this class focuses on using breath to connect body, mind, and practice. Often the room is heated to around 80 to 90 degrees to help facilitate this integration of sweat, strength, and spirit. Vinyasa classes are offered in 90 minute and 60 minute options. Bring a mat and water, and come experience the power of this yoga style. Practitioners of all levels are welcome.

Jenny’s pursuit of meaningful work has led her on an amazing journey. She carries advanced degrees in Human Resources and Organizational Development, and has worked on corporate succession planning, change management, and leadership development in both privately held and Fortune 50 organizations. After leaving her corporate career, she uncovered her true path and received her certification as an Integral Coach through New Ventures West and Yoga Teacher training with Baron Baptiste. She currently offers her Integral Coaching services to clients across the country and teaches Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga classes in San Francisco. Jenny’s desire is for each of her clients and students to uncover their individual truth in the world and to offer their unique contribution both on and off the mat.

Art of Wing Tsun

Wing Tsun is a style designed to be uncompromising in its effectiveness — neutralizing advantages inherent in greater physical size and strength through the use of angles, trained reflexes, and the borrowing of an opponent's force.

According to legend, WingTsun (詠春) KungFu was founded around 300 years ago in southern China by a woman. WingTsun is a system evolved to suit modern times. It is part of the training of many elite military and police forces, and practiced in branches of the International WingTsun Association in over 60 countries worldwide.

At Studio WingTsun, our instructors teach classes based on the IWTA curriculum, while customizing lessons according to each individual student's ability. They help students understand WingTsun principals and methodology, never bully students, and do not allow bullying in our classes

Kemscrima-Doh

Founded in 1985 by Grandmaster Glenn C. Abrescy, Kemscrima-Doh is a hybrid art that features an eclectic blend of Chinese Kempo, Filipino Escrima, and Indonesian Kuntao. In Kemscrima-Doh, "Kem" refers to Kempo, "Scrima" symbolizes Escrima, and "Doh" translates to "The Way." Together, Kemscrima-Doh is "The Way of the Stick and Fist". A training day can encompass anything from unarmed self-defense and the memorization of forms to the use of Okinawan weapons and the always popular and dynamic Filipino stick and knife fighting

Jimmy McCullough has been teaching Kemscrima-Doh since January 2000. In that time he has attained the rank of fifth-degree black belt and has taught a variety of students over the years, from senior citizens, toddlers (some as young as two), to developmentally disabled adults and average people off the street with no martial arts experience beforehand. He brought Kemscrima-doh to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006.

Anyone is welcome to join the class regardless of age or physicality but please leave the ego at the door! The first class is free!

Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan

I have practiced Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan for over 30 years. My personal practice and experience provides time-tested and proven methods for improvement.

Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient art which helps to reduce stress of everyday life and improve health by calming the mind/body/spirit. There are several forms of Tai Chi Chuan but I will focus mainly on Chen style. Any age can practice this art form, even older adults who may not be able to do strenuous exercise. Tai Chi Chuan can be practiced indoors or out and does not require special equipment. It can also be practiced alone or in groups.

The practice of Tai Chi as a martial art emphasizes the development of feeling, breathing, strength, spiral force and rooting.

Feeling: development tactile sensitivity so that you can determine an opponent's center of gravity.

Breathing: train lung capacity, move the blood and oxygenate the body- washing away internal poisons and bringing nutrients to all parts of the body.

Strength: train the muscles so the body can support and align itself allowing movement in a natural, balanced and relaxed posture.

Spiral force is a methodology used to stretch and and enhance flexibility to dissolve an opponent's strength and apply a counter-attack of your own.

Rooting means to feel the effects of gravity (the most powerful physical force) on your body and through training allows you to absorb powerful outside forces with the least amount of resistance.
